These Marketing tricks work wonders

Ross has been in touch.

He’s asked if the I email in my last post really did a month’s worth of sales in 6 days.

Yes, it did.

But let’s back up a little. Remember the three marketing tricks I shamelessly stole from Mr Bird?

Let’s remind ourselves what they are:

1. Talk more often to your prospects.

2. Add urgency in some way, shape or form.

3. Try a different offer.

Now let’s look at the email again. Here it is:

“Easter has been and gone – and it’s left good news and bad news.

The bad news (for me) is that it’s a very quiet time of year.

The good news (for you), is I’m knocking $100 off a stool test and consultation until Tuesday 6th.

So if you’ve been mulling over a stool test – now really is the time to act.

To get the discount page, just follow this link – you won’t find the discount page any other way.

Don’t forget though – I’ll pull this link midnight, on the 6th.

Best

Dave.”

It’s not hard to spot the offer (trick 3).

The same goes for the urgency. (trick 2).

And you won’t be surprised to know we mailed his list everyday for 6 days (trick 1).

What more can I say? These three tricks work wonders when they pull together.

This example also uses reason-why copy (which I mentioned in my last mail) but there’s also two more principles at play as well.

And next time, I’ll tell you what they are: one’s a real silver bullet.

Or if you can’t wait, you can get them straight from the horse’s mouth, here.

Best

Al
