Honesty – the best policy for marketers?

One of the things I enjoy about working with Drayton is his endless fascination with quotes.

He comes out with some absolute gems – all relevant to getting better results.

One he often trots off is this:

“Honesty is not only the best policy. It is rare enough nowadays to make you pleasantly conspicuous” – Charlie Brower.

And to demonstrate this, I’ve shamelessly stolen the below from one of Drayton’s copywriting seminars.

It’s by legendry estate agent, Roy Brooks, who believed people preferred the unvarnished truth. His ads made him quite famous.

Roy’s ads were hilarious – but here’s the thing: they sold houses. He had a very successful agency.

Now with this fresh in your mind, have a quick look-see at what you’re sending your prospects.

We can all learn from Roy.

And if you’re not automatically sending stuff  the moment a prospect enquires, sort that out with Aweber right now.

I can’t tell you how much money you are leaving on the table if you are not mailing them the second they enquire – and frequently afterwards.

And take a leaf out of Roy’s book – tell the unvarnished truth.

(For the love of God don’t do this manually – automate every mail with Aweber).
